Final Music Poster

Here is my final version of the music poster. I deviated from what I wanted to do originally since it was becoming difficult and frustrating. What I chose to do instead was to use the song's sound soundwaves as a visual effect, represented by the horizontal bars and justified text. I'm not completely satisfied with the reliance on graphics, but it was the best I could so so quickly after changing my approach.

I also thought I would share a project I just finished for my Editing Styles and Techniques class. We had to repurpose found footage into a music video. For mine, I wanted to combine elements of typography with graphic video elements.

Music Poster - Song + Concept

For my music poster, I wanted to use the lyrics from "We're Not Gonna Take It" by Twisted Sister, because I think the message is very relevant and empowering. I love Dee Snider's look from the album cover (depicted below) and I feel like it encapsulates his full-up-edness that motivates the song. While as of right now my draft has filler text, I would like to use a variation of typefaces to represent both different textures and different sections of the song (i.e. refrain vs. chorus vs. verse). I will then either clip to a vectorized version of the image or the image itself.
